BC Athletics

All athletes registering for our Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor programs must be members of BC Athletics. Registering after Sept 1st in any year will provide a BCA membership that is good until the last day of the following year. The second field you are asked to fill in requests your BCA number. If you are unsure of what it is, you can use the LOOKUP function which is linked in red, just to the right of the box. Enter the requested information and when you submit the form, your membership number and some other the information will be filled for you if you are already or have been a member. If you are told that you are not a member, a number will be assigned to you after you pay the fees at the end of the registration.

In order to register for BC Athletics, you now do this through the registration form on the BC Athletics website - www.bcathletics.org. Click on the MEMBERSHIP tab at the top of the home page. When on the Membership page, scroll down until you see SIGN UP FOR YOUR BC ATHLETICS MEMBERSHIP HERE ! (just above the blue boxes where the different types of memberships are explained). Once on the registration form, make sure to select Kamloops Track and Field Club and then fill in the remaining fields. You will be charged the fee for 2024 when you finish the BCA registration form. ***Mini-Track Rascals do NOT require a BCA Membership.***

Competitive Membership

When completing your registration, you will be prompted to select a "competitive" membership. This type of BC Athletics membership allows athletes in the club to compete in BC Athletics sanctioned meets (all of ours are) both in Kamloops and in other locations in Canada. If you are not already a member of BC Athletics you will be assigned a number according to your birth year. That will be your number for life. The BCA membership must be renewed annually and occurs when registering for club programs. If you already are a competitive member of BC Athletics, you enter your number in the field asking for your membership number (there is a lookup button if you can't remember).

Training Membership

Training Membership allows athletes to register and train with Kamloops Track and Field Club. This type of membership does not allow athletes to compete in sanctioned track and field meets for the club. JD and athletes up to grade 12 are able to compete in sanctioned track and field meets during the school year, but not as a member of the club. If it is offered, these athletes may enter sanctioned meets as unattached athletes, by paying an additional fee that BC Athletics calls a 'Day of Event' fee which covers these athletes while competing at sanctioned meets and their results will not be included in any rankings of achievement with Athletics Canada or BC Athletics. Athletes no longer attending high school are not allowed to register for the 'Day of Event' insurance.

Track Rascal Membership

The other type of membership being offered is one that all Track Rascals must have. This is also an annual BC Athletics membership which which provides insurance coverage for Track Rascal athletes (6-8) while they learn the fundamentals of Track and Field. Ages are determined by the age of athletes on Dec. 31 each year.

Mini-Track Rascal Membership (new information for 2023/2024)

Please Note: We are no longer able to register athletes younger than 6 in BC Athletics. So, even though we will be having Mini-Track Rascal programs, these sessions will now be considered camps and will have a separate registration for each session. BCA numbers will not be assigned. The insurance coverage for these athletes is through the fee the club pays to BC Athletics for the camps to be sanctioned. Refund requests:

1. Received less than 2 days before the start of a season or session will not be granted.
2. Registration refunds for medical reasons can only be processed upon receipt of a note from a medical professional. A fee will be applied for any sessions transpired.
